WherePDF uses two processing methods. Each tool page tells you which method applies before you start.
Server processing
Encrypted upload with temporary storage
These tools upload files over HTTPS for conversion. Uploads and generated results expire after the configured temporary period, currently up to 24 hours.
No permanent document storage
WherePDF is a processing service, not a file drive. Temporary server objects and results expire automatically.
No silent processing switch
A tool configured for local processing does not silently fall back to uploading your file.
Temporary server workflow
Server tools use task-bound uploads, processing status and expiring download results.

Do all files stay on my device?+
No. Page organization tools run locally in your browser. Conversion, compression, protection, and unlocking tools use an encrypted temporary server workflow. The tool page identifies the method before processing.
How long are server-processed files retained?+
Uploads and generated results expire after the configured temporary period, currently up to 24 hours. Failed or aborted uploads are also cleaned from the temporary workflow.
Does WherePDF store my files permanently?+
No. WherePDF is not a document storage service. Server-processed files and results use temporary storage and expire automatically.
Does WherePDF require an account?+
No. The current PDF tools can be used without creating an account.
